“RAINING IN ROCHESTER”

OUT EVERYWHERE APRIL 25TH

I was running down a dream…

I was living in a third-floor walk-up in Chicago’s Ukrainian Village when I developed a debilitating crush on a pretty profile picture on Twitter (pre-Elon).

She wanted to see a new city, and I offered to show her around Chicago, even though I had only lived there six months. After many a phone call and FaceTime, we both decided it seemed worth being catfished and/or serial-killed and gave it a go.

We started at a Cubs game. I took her to a giant ferris wheel (before I knew she was scared of heights) and a corny magic show. I drank too much, but she seemed charmed anyway. And I was smitten.

So that was that: I was moving to Rochester.

But that took some doing, of course—breaking the lease and whatnot. So, in the time between deciding to move and actually moving, I wrote this song, Raining in Rochester.

Since then, we’ve moved in together, got married, and sang many a song together. In fact, she loaned her angelic vocals to this very track. I hope you love it as much as I do.
